Sunderland for FPL: our view

Chosen Esiwe Founder, Metro Football · Updated

Sunderland sit 20th in the Premier League with 5 points from 8 games: 1 won, 2 drawn and 5 lost. They have scored 6 and conceded 14. Neither end stands out yet, so pick players on their own numbers rather than the team.

Xhaka leads the way with 28 FPL points, while Brobbey is the most popular pick at 5.1% ownership. On current form, Roefs is the man to watch, averaging 4.0 points a game over the last month.

Across the next five gameweeks, Sunderland face COV (A), CHE (H), AVL (A), TOT (H) and LIV (A). There is nothing there to be afraid of. Pick the strongest one or two players here rather than spreading your money across the squad.

Every figure here comes from the official Fantasy Premier League data and refreshes as the week goes on. We judge minutes first, then form against others in the same position, price movement and the next five fixtures.
