How to read the gameweek recap
Once the final whistle goes, the useful question is not only how many points you scored, but why. The recap breaks the gameweek down so you can learn from it before the next deadline.
What is in the recap
Top points lists the gameweek's highest scorers, with filters for position and ownership, so you can see whether the big hauls came from popular players or hidden gems. Captains shows who managers trusted with the armband and who delivered. Bonus points shows who picked up the extra points. Surprises compares each player's score with what was predicted, and popular players shows how the most owned names did. With your team linked, you see your own week alongside the rest.
How to use it for next week
- Sort by surprise. A player who beat his prediction in a game he ran may be worth buying. One who scored from a single lucky moment probably is not.
- Filter to players owned by under 10%. Those scores moved ranks, and those are the names other managers will chase next.
- Check the captain table. If the popular captain blanked, plenty of managers will react with transfers, which can move prices.
- Track bonus points over several weeks. Players who collect bonus regularly are involved in a lot of the action, even when they do not score.
Learning without overreacting
One gameweek is a small sample. A defender who scores twice will not do it every week, and a striker who blanks against a top side has not suddenly lost his touch. Use the recap to spot patterns that repeat, and save your transfers for those. Our guide to FPL bonus points explains why some players keep picking them up.
Past gameweeks stay available, so you can compare one week with another and see which trends are real.
