How to read your live FPL points

Saturday at 3pm is when the planning stops and the watching starts. This page follows your team as it scores, with your points, your live rank and the pitch view updating as the games go on.

What you see on this page

The four numbers at the top tell the story of your week. Gameweek points is your running total, with your captain doubled and your bench left out. Live rank is where that total would place you right now among every manager in the game. Last gameweek rank and rank change show whether this week is lifting you or dragging you down. Below them, your starting eleven sits on the pitch with each player's live score, and your bench is lined up underneath in the order you set.

How to use it during a gameweek

  1. Check in at half time and full time. Points arrive in bursts, and a quiet first half often turns around after the break.
  2. Keep an eye on your bench. If a starter ends the gameweek without playing a minute, the game brings on your first eligible bench player once the gameweek is over. Your bench order matters more than most people think.
  3. Treat bonus points with care. They move while matches are on and only settle once the last game of the day is finished.
  4. Judge your rank at the end of the gameweek, not on Saturday night. A big Sunday or Monday game can swing it a long way.

Why live rank moves so much

Your rank depends on what everyone else owns, not only on your own score. If a player in half of all teams scores, your rank barely moves even if you own him too. If he blanks and you left him out, you climb. That is why a modest score can still bring a green arrow and a decent one can bring a red arrow. Over a season, the managers who finish high are usually the ones who stay calm through those swings. Our guide to how bonus points work explains one of the biggest late movers.

If a number here differs from the FPL app for a few minutes, it is almost always because one side has refreshed first. Give it a moment and they will match. When you are ready to plan next week, head to the Pick page.
